Patients begin low-level activity and focus on wellness education. The patient's individualized rehabilitation program then concentrates on exercise prescriptions and the reduction of disease risk factors. The program may include medically supervised and monitored exercise. Programs and individual counseling to help patients stop smoking, lose weight, lower high blood pressure and cholesterol, and reduce emotional stress are also offered.
Cardiac recovery services help patients regain cardiac reserve, muscle strength, and range of motion. We strive to help patients with various heart conditions to regain the strength and confidence needed to resume a normal routine. Most patients return to their usual activities within a few months after a heart attack or surgery.
